Nos anais da história militar, poucas inovações tiveram um impacto tão profundo quanto o tanque. À medida que o clima político da Europa esquentava no início do século vinte, a necessidade de veículos terrestres blindados se tornou evidente. A Alemanha, embora inicialmente atrasada, logo estaria na vanguarda desta revolução mecanizada.

A primeira concepção de um veículo que se tornaria o tanque ocorreu nas trincheiras lamacentas da Primeira Guerra Mundial. Os britânicos tomaram a liderança, revelando seus veículos blindados em mil novecentos e dezesseis. A Alemanha, percebendo o potencial de tais máquinas, rapidamente iniciou seus próprios projetos. No entanto, foi após o Tratado de Versalhes, nos anos entre guerras, que o verdadeiro poder da engenharia de tanques alemã começou a tomar forma. O tratado impôs severas restrições ao exército alemão, limitando sua capacidade de desenvolver e implantar armamentos pesados. Mas a adversidade muitas vezes gera engenhosidade.

Campos de treinamento ocultos na Rússia tornaram-se o cadinho secreto onde as primeiras divisões blindadas da Alemanha aprimoraram suas habilidades. Foi aqui, longe dos olhos internacionais curiosos, que homens como Heinz Guderian, frequentemente saudado como o pai da guerra blindada alemã, começaram a vislumbrar uma nova maneira de guerra. Guderian foi fortemente influenciado por teóricos britânicos como J.F.C. Fuller e B.H. Liddell Hart, que defendiam o uso de unidades blindadas rápidas para romper as linhas inimigas. The Moranbong Band, also known as Moran Hill Orchestra, is an all-female music group in North Korea whose members were selected by the country's supreme leader Kim Jong-un. Performing interpretive styles of pop, rock, and fusion, they are the first all-female band from the DPRK, and made their world debut on July 6, 2012. Their varied musical style has been described as symphonic because it is "putting together different kinds of sounds, and ending in a harmonious, pleasing result.

Teufelslied or SS marschiert in Feindesland was a marching song used during WWII by Waffen-SS, the paramilitary forces of Nazi Germany.
This song has more versions in different languages coming from countries that were either occupied by Nazi Germany or allies of Nazi Germany, e.g. "Zem Mūsu Kājām" which is the Latvian version of Teufelslied.

Durante um período de duas semanas em agosto de 1936, a ditadura nazista liderada por Adolf Hitler acolheu os Jogos Olímpicos de Verão, escondendo temporariamente suas tendências racistas e militares. Nessa ocasião, o regime reduziu suas políticas antissemitas e planos de expansão territorial, aproveitando os Jogos para apresentar uma imagem de uma Alemanha pacífica e tolerante perante muitos espectadores estrangeiros e jornalistas.

No entanto, as organizações atléticas e olímpicas dos Estados Unidos e de outras democracias ocidentais perderam a oportunidade de boicotar os Jogos Olímpicos de 1936, o que, de acordo com alguns observadores da época, poderia ter desencorajado Adolf Hitler e fortalecido a resistência internacional contra a tirania nazista. Após o término dos Jogos, a Alemanha continuou sua política expansionista e perseguição aos judeus e outros "inimigos do Estado", culminando na eclosão da Segunda Guerra Mundial e no Holocausto.

この党大会からアルベルト・シュペーア発案の夜間の130基の対空サーチライトによるライトアップが効果的に使用された。これは当時、会場の全体が完成していなかったため、ライトアップにより「光の大聖堂」を作って威容を補うことを意図したものだった。

サーチライトを提供させられた空軍のヘルマン・ゲーリングは、空軍の備蓄のほとんどを使うことになると猛反発したが、ヒトラーは「他国は、ドイツにはこんなこともできるくらいサーチライトがあり余っているのだと思い込むだろう」と説得した。「光の大聖堂」は演出上、非常に効果的であったので以降の党大会においても毎年実施されることになった。
