As the German Wehrmacht drove in to surrender, was disarmed and their soldiers taken prisoners of war in May 1945, also ethnic German civilians (Sudetendeutsche) had to flee from Czechoslovakia. The expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia after World War II was part of a series of evacuations and deportations of Germans from Central and Eastern Europe. In the months following the end of the war, "wild" expulsions happened from May until August 1945. Roughly 1.6 million ethnic Germans were deported to the American zone (West Germany), and an estimated 800,000 were deported to the Soviet zone (East Germany). The expulsions ended in 1948, but not all Germans were expelled. The West German government in 1958 estimated the ethnic German death toll during the expulsion period to be about 270,000, a figure that has been cited in historical literature since then.

Os zelotes formavam um partido judaico nacionalista que lutava contra o domínio romano sobre Israel. O problema era que na teoria, os ideais e propósitos dos Zelotes muitas vezes até pareciam bons, corretos e compreensíveis, mas o que acontecia na prática era outra história. Frequentemente eles eram violentos, praticavam atentados e, inclusive, estiveram no centro de um conflito que resultou na destruição de Jerusalém.

A palavra “zelotes” vem do grego e significa “zeloso”. Essa palavra é aplicada na Bíblia para falar de pessoas zelosas com as coisas de Deus, como o apóstolo Paulo e os cristãos de Jerusalém durante no período apostólico. Mas quando esse termo é aplicado para designar o grupo nacionalista judaico, seu significado tem mais a ver com a ideia de um patriotismo fanático.

Os zelotes tiveram origem nas ideias revolucionárias de Judas, o galileu, que organizou uma revolta em 6 d.C. contra a anexação de Judá como uma província romana. Esse grupo durou décadas e sempre fomentou as ideias independentistas judaicas. Inclusive, um dos apóstolos de Jesus identificado como Simão, o zelote, provavelmente pertenceu a esse grupo. Os zelotes estiveram diretamente envolvidos no conflito que culminou na queda de Jerusalém em 70 d.C., e a última fortaleza desse grupo foi destruída em 73 d.C.

Ein Junges Volk steht auf is the Hitler Youth song. Written by Werner Altendorf probably in 1934 and was first published in 1935. It quickly found it's way into the songs of the Hitlerjugend and the NSDAP, as early as 1936 it was one of the Hitlerjugend's compulsory songs. Until 1940 it was included in almost all school records and also found its way into various soldier song books. After the Second World War, the song was initially mainly used by right-wing youth organizations such as the Adler Youth Association, the Viking youth or the Bund Heimattreuer Jugend.
